Input deinterlacing

media.transcode.deinterlace

Deinterlacing converts interlaced input video frames to progressive frames. It operates on decoded frames, including H.264 and MPEG-2 input. This is a decoder setting: progressive output tracks use the filtered result.

Configuration

Set deinterlace in transcoder.decoder. The setting is also available in the Decoder block on the Transcoder tab.

streams:
  - name: tv1
    inputs:
    - udp: {host: 239.0.0.1, port: 5000}
    transcoder:
      decoder:
        deinterlace: auto
      output:
      - source: !content video
        codec: !set h264
Mode Behavior
auto Default: process only frames flagged as interlaced; progressive frames bypass the filter.
force Process every frame, including input without an interlace flag.
off Disable the filter.

Frame rate is unchanged: one progressive frame is produced for each input frame. Check moving objects for combing and inspect the output track properties.

Interlaced output is documented separately: interlace configuration.
