Publishing SRT with a stream key¶
media.publish.srt_streamkey
Planned feature; not implemented yet.
media.publish.srt_streamkey is intended to route and authorize incoming SRT publications using a secret key supplied by the source. It is a separate feature for multi-server deployments.
Purpose¶
The key is intended to associate a publication with its stream and authorize the source to send data to it. Cluster routing will direct the publication to the server serving that stream. The source will not need to select a server based on stream placement.
Difference from basic publishing¶
In basic SRT publishing, the srt_publish input is bound to a port on a specific server, and passphrase controls admission and encryption for that input. Setting passphrase alone does not enable stream lookup or cluster routing by key. That is the purpose of media.publish.srt_streamkey.
Configuration¶
Configuration will use the central API. The key format, the way a source supplies it and the API fields for this feature have not been defined yet. This page describes the planned feature; there is no working YAML example for the current Sapsan version.
Next steps¶
Transport¶
For the planned feature: MPEG-TS/SRT/UDP.
Supported codecs¶
A separate codec set is not defined yet. Current capabilities: SRT.
