media.episodes.ipcam groups episode retrieval from IP cameras. The tariff grid assigns these sources to the feature:

  • Email — camera events delivered by email.
  • ONVIF polling — camera notifications retrieved by polling.
  • ONVIF RTSP — camera metadata in the RTSP stream.

ONVIF

Current ONVIF processing accepts PullPoint notifications and camera metadata in RTSP. These become typed motion and detection episodes. Multiple motion sources on one camera are tracked independently; episodes have opening and closing timestamps.

A streamer exposes its current episode window through GET /streamer/api-v4/episodes. The central harvester stores snapshots and images in combined history. Prolonged central outages may leave gaps beyond the streamer window.

Camera setup and events are described in ONVIF events. Email in the tariff entry does not specify an SMTP endpoint or connection settings; this guide introduces none. Events from an external sender use the central episode API.
