25.03 Watcher
With the March release, we are preparing to update our iOS application. If your subscribers use the Watcher for iOS mobile app, you need to update to the latest versions of the server-side Watcher 25.02 or 25.03 to ensure continued stable operation. If the server-side Watcher is outdated, clients will lose access to it after updating the app.
Here’s what else is new in March.
Detect not only the vehicle’s license plate but also its direction (entry and exit)
For those using video analytics, it is now possible to detect the direction of a vehicle’s movement. Along with the license plate, the API now provides information on where the plate was captured—from the front or rear of the vehicle.
If your Watcher is integrated with access control systems, you can use the API to decide whether to open a barrier for an incoming vehicle—depending on its movement direction. Use the vehicle_facing_side method in the Flussonic Vision Inference Server API.
Create a mosaic for a specific organization
We have simplified the process of creating mosaics. Now, you can add a new one directly from the page listing all mosaics. Previously, this required navigating to the organization settings.
View agent information from the camera page without switching to the full agent list
Previously, to find out more details about an agent, users had to go to the full agent list and search for the relevant one. With the new release, this information is now accessible directly from the camera list page.
Click the link in the “Agent” column to access details conveniently without wasting time searching.
Identify reasons why a streamer was not selected for a specific stream
In previous releases, we updated the logic for stream distribution among streamers. Now, the layouter takes available disk space into account when selecting the most suitable streamer for a stream.
If a streamer was not selected for some reason, users will see an error message with the option to view detailed information about all unavailable streamers and the reasons for their inaccessibility. For example:
To send the camera to an available node, you need to resolve the errors—such as adding missing labels for the camera.
Configure detection zones for cameras with preset video analytics
Now you can define the specific zone where a camera should recognize license plates or people if video analytics is enabled. For example, if a camera is monitoring a barrier gate and you only need to capture the license plate of approaching vehicles, you can limit the detection zone to the foreground, excluding everything in the upper parts of the frame.
