23.08 Watcher

Welcome to the release notes for Watcher version 23.08! We are thrilled to introduce the latest features and enhancements in Flussonic Watcher:

Episode-Based Functionality:

Watcher now offers powerful episode-based functionality for video analytics and motion event processing. The introduction of the episodes_expiration parameter allows Watcher to provision episode expiration to Central based on configured DVR depths for records with detected motion events. This helps manage episodes efficiently and automatically remove expired content. Watcher now processes analytics and motion events as episodes, integrating seamlessly with Flussonic Central for centralized control and organization of episodes.

Iris Firmware:

We are proud to announce significant improvements with our proprietary firmware, exclusively developed for the cameras equipped with Fulhan H8852v200+GS2063 chipset. In this release, we have streamlined the Iris startup process by implementing automatic configuration of routing settings, eliminating the need for manual intervention. We have successfully resolved the previous issue that affected the startup of Iris on these cameras, ensuring smooth hardware initialization and providing a reliable and uninterrupted operation.

Streamer Operations:

With the enhancements in the latest release, streamer configuration is now provisioned to each streamer on every sync. This ensures that streamers receive the most up-to-date and accurate configuration settings, enabling optimal performance and functionality. The issue related to incorrect status information preventing the saving of streamer settings has been fixed. You can now confidently save streamer settings within camera configurations without any disruptions or errors.

Full ARM64 Support for Flussonic Watcher:

Watcher now fully supports ARM64 architecture, providing efficient deployment and optimal performance on ARM64-based systems. This expansion of compatibility allows for broader device utilization, including ARM64-based servers, devices, and embedded systems.

Bug Fixes:

MultipleFacesDetectedError: We fixed the issue that was causing difficulties when adding new persons to the surveillance database. With this fix, adding new individuals is now seamless and uninterrupted.

Central Stream Deletion: Streams are now properly deleted from Central after removing corresponding cameras from Watcher. However, streams that were not deleted before this fix will remain in Central. Advanced users have the option to delete all streams from Central and re-provision them if needed.

DVR Player Accessibility: The DVR player is now accessible even when the camera is offline. You can review recorded footage without any disruptions.

Watcher Documentation:

Thumbnails Option Removal: The “Thumbnails” option in camera settings has been removed. JPEG screenshots are no longer supported, and instead, MP4 thumbnails should be used for all cases.
