Watcher NVR¶
Watcher NVR is a hardware and software appliance for local video recording and archive storage at a site. The hardware and embedded software are supplied together, sized for the agreed workload and archive retention period.
Central Watcher VMS provides unified access and management across multiple sites. The recorders at each site connect to it; the local archive remains at the sites. Watcher NVR does not replace an enterprise's central VMS.
Local recording and cloud storage are configured separately. Pairing a recorder and synchronizing its cameras do not mean that its entire local archive has been copied to the cloud.

If the cameras support PoE, a compatible switch can supply power and data over one cable. For automatic ONVIF discovery, place the recorder and cameras on a local network where discovery is possible. A camera on another subnet can be added by address if routing and access to its ports are available.
The operator opens http://NVR_IP in a browser. Access to cameras and recordings depends on the account. The recorder needs a connection to the cloud for remote cloud access.
