Meet Spica
Located in the Middle East, with multiple offices in the UAE and KSA, Spica is a company focused on providing Structured Big Data and Actionable Insights whose main goal is to boost the business of its clients by using media monitoring to satisfy media intelligence needs and improve the decision making process.
Since its foundation in 2005 in Dubai, Spica has managed to work with a considerable number of satisfied customers, more than 200, in different countries such as the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, among others. Its clients include entities of the stature of UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, KSA’s General Commission For Audiovisual Media, Gitex Global, Dubai Economy and Tourism, Dubai Customs, Asdaa BCW, UAE Embassies and Consulates, and many others.
“We provide media monitoring and social media listening and auditing to our clients. Which gives them the chance to utilize Big Data from media outlets and social media platforms to get actionable insights. This allows them to maintain a healthy growth and build better strategies and make better decisions in a data-driven way. Our media monitoring includes radio, television, newspapers, magazines, websites, and news portals. While for social media listening and auditing, we listen to online conversations on different topics and monitor different accounts on various social media platforms. With the data obtained, we provide reports and media analysis. The reports and analysis helps different departments build their strategic plans, set their goals and KPIs, and be proactive in their media work and customer service. This leads to a better brand representation and sustainable growth and market share increase”, adds Bahaa Qasim, CEO.
Challenge
One of the biggest challenges in the media monitoring industry is the ability to do real-time broadcast monitoring and alerts.
To solve this problem, Spica initiated a process of searching for the ideal platform. They invested many months of research, business meetings and tests with different providers. Eventually, Spica found Flussonic. After the development of a POC and a trial period, the collaboration contract was signed, which remains in effect to this day.
“We are happy, very happy with your service and your software” says Bahaa Qasim, CEO.
Solution
Complete and successful integration of Flussonic Media Server with the multiple equipment and systems that Spica handles. In a short time, our team of Flussonic experts were able to work, in the words of Spica, in unity with the local team in Dubai.
The process was so successful that last year Spica expanded its Flussonic license. Even as of this writing, we are in talks to add another server no later than 2023.
“The best part of this entire integration process was the great technical support we received from the Flussonic team. We were able to solve many things in-house, but there were other parts of the process that we delegated to Flussonic and the result was excellent. I can only say that all the time Flussonic’s support was exceptional. We work as one team whenever we need help”, adds Eyad Adwan, Director of Business Development and Operations.
What’s next?
Many of Spica’s customers have their own data centers, which means that in the not too distant future Flussonic will also have to help Spica support those customers directly. This collaboration will be key to taking Spica’s services to the highest possible levels.
We are very excited about what the future holds for both companies!
Most likely, we will soon write a second article about this case study, because the future is very promising.
Meanwhile, if you want to know how Flussonic can also help your company to overcome the challenges that come with the growth and launch of new products and services, do not hesitate to contact us.
