Version 26.09

One node now holds 18,000 concurrent WebRTC viewers instead of 200–300, and delivers more than 100 Gbit/s of HLS. Catena gained DRM, a viewer storefront with a real programme guide, timeshift channels, VOD transcoding and fMP4 capture over HLS and DASH — the last pieces that kept operators on Flussonic Media Server. Mcaster became a headend you can put in a broadcast chain: SDI from DekTec cards, SMPTE ST 2110, MXL, RIST, full control over the outgoing MPEG-TS, conditional access, and a register of customers and what each of them bought. Watcher's NVR replaces its media server with the new core by the ordinary update button.

Version 26.08

Catena 26.08 serves 30,000 concurrent viewers from a single node over low-latency protocols, migrates from Flussonic v3 with an import wizard, installs in one command together with its database and operator account, issues its own Let's Encrypt certificates, and gains NVIDIA hardware transcoding, MPTS program selection and a cluster-wide VOD catalogue. Watcher stopped keeping quiet when an NVR is not writing its archive, shows which camera ate how much storage, and got a media layer package of its own.
