The new Flussonic streaming core
Sapsan. A fantastically fast streaming core
Records 10,000 cameras on one server. Delivers 100 gigabits of video.
Sapsan is a next-generation video ingest, recording, and delivery core written in Rust. It already powers Flussonic products — and it is ready to become the heart of yours.
What Sapsan is
Sapsan is a streaming core: the software component that ingests live video over industry protocols, fails over between backup sources with no black screen, transcodes, writes an append-only archive across dozens of disks, and delivers live and archived video to viewers.
The core is written in Rust from scratch — no legacy code and no performance compromises. One process, all protocols, hot configuration reload without interrupting streaming.
Ingest
RTSP, MPEG-TS (UDP/HTTP), SRT, RTMP, WebRTC WHIP, ONVIF
Archive
append-only DVR across dozens of disks, rewind, seamless archive from other servers
Delivery
HLS and LL-HLS, DASH, MPEG-TS (CBR), SRT, RTSP, WebRTC WHEP
Already inside Flussonic products
Sapsan ships bundled with Flussonic's flagship products and does all the streaming work under their hood.
Building your own product?
If you are building your own VMS, IPTV platform, or video service and need a streaming core, we offer Sapsan under separate terms: core licensing for embedding into your product.
- API-driven: the core obeys your orchestrator
- Single-YAML configuration applied on the fly
- Prometheus metrics and OpenTelemetry traces out of the box
