Cloud Video

Now, more and more telecom operators are launching a cloud video surveillance service for their subscribers. Typically, such a service for the subscriber consists of providing a camera for the duration of the service, installation of the camera by the operator’s specialists, a personal account accessible via a web browser and a mobile application, and the ability to record with an archive of a certain depth.

But sometimes operators go further and open up many additional opportunities for their subscribers. This is the path taken by the telecom operator Flynet, using the Flussonic Watcher solution.

“Initially, we wanted to provide our customers with the most convenient and useful product and an easy-to-use, attractive interface. Our company already had experience with various conservative video surveillance systems, but we wanted to see something new, to surprise ourselves. And then - to surprise our customers. A major role, in this sense, was played by global trends indicating the rapid evolution of video surveillance systems. We consider it shortsighted not to build a modern video surveillance system as, for example, a part of a “smart city” concept. This is how Flussonic Watcher appeared on our agenda”

comments Oleg Dudko, CEO of Flynet.

How the Video Surveillance Service Works

The operator Flynet provides video surveillance services using both its own cameras and Flussonic cameras with Flussonic Agent installed on them. A new subscriber simply needs to connect the camera to the Internet, the camera immediately enters the operator’s billing system, and the subscriber gets access to the service. The service is managed through the subscriber’s personal account via the mobile application or the web interface.

“The task of providing the customer with a convenient, intuitive, understandable product was solved. Using Watcher through a mobile application or a regular browser minimizes the number of questions asked and, accordingly, contributes to the efficiency of the entire workflow. In addition, there were no problems during the implementation of Flussonic Watcher by our specialists. The Flussonic Watcher support team quickly responded to all, even repetitive questions”.

The Flynet subscriber video surveillance service is constantly being updated. The operator uses all the new features from the Flussonic Watcher releases, which allows them to constantly expand the functionality of the service for their subscribers. For example, Flynet was one of the first telecom operators that Flussonic worked with to launch an analytics service for license plate recognition on cars. This service is used to automatically open the barrier for the cars of residents of apartment buildings. Not so long ago, a face recognition service became available to subscribers, with the help of which it became possible to get into the entrance of a house or on the territory of a site, simply by looking into the camera of the intercom.

The tariff scale is simple and understandable for subscribers. To pay for cameras, a subscription model is used, when the cost of a camera is evenly distributed across the entire tariff plan. Thus, the operator reduces the initial cost of launching, and the subscriber does not have to pay the full cost for cameras up-front.

“Flussonic Watcher allowed us to optimize the costs associated with the cloud surveillance system software. Considering this factor, as well as the specifics of the market, we have offered our customers more than just video surveillance. Flussonic Watcher helped us a lot with this. I will not specify the numbers, but sales of video surveillance services have grown several times over the past two years. In the general package of our services, cloud video surveillance quickly became one of the main ones”

At the moment, Flynet subscribers have installed about 3,000 cameras, and this number is growing every month. The Flynet video surveillance service is developing together with Flussonic Watcher, and we are glad to see how the operator uses all the capabilities of our software.
