Many home security solutions impose severe risks today. Most part of it is caused by cheap end-user IP cameras that include local servers that open a port for remote access. It’s like leaving your door wide open when going on vacation. The Mirai botnet took over more than 100,000 unprotected IP cameras in the US last year, so you must be very careful selecting a trustworthy online security service.

How a Secure Surveillance System Work

A camera is just a tiny component of the complex cloud security system that manages video streams and detects threats. The cloud can be physically located on servers of a large corporation or internet provider.

We are working on a video surveillance system called Watcher that can be installed on any Linux server and get automatic updates. It establishes a secure connection between the end-user cameras and simplifies camera installation.

From a business perspective, if some internet provider wanted to add a new service that let people watch their homes, it’s a long-term integration project with a surveillance system. Watcher offers a unique integration mechanism that will let any Internet/TV provider easily add a new service and link their billing.
